NL domains faster in use

When you buy a domain name you are taking the important first step towards a website and personal mail. But how quickly is a domain name generally actually put into use for this purpose? The SIDN has found out in the latest report of 2017. If you buy a domain name then in last quarter of 2015 nothing was done with it for 127 days. Domains that are not used can have various reasons. For example that the domain is only fixed for future use. Or that the domain is only bought to protect your brand name. As also by the domain name monitoring service can be arranged. Domains and the economy

It can happen that nothing happens with a domain name and that it is terminated after a few years. We saw this mainly strongly in the Crisis time to save costs for companies. In the last quarter of 2017, the number of unused domain names dropped sharply to as low as 43 days. This is a sign that the digital economy of the Netherlands is doing well. When there is an economic dip present then you also see the number of domain names drop.
