Installing Orchard CMS

Orchard CMS installation can be done within a few steps at MijnHostingPartner.nl, Orchard is a popular CMS system for ASP.NET hosting users.

You need for the installation:

• An FTP account and FileZilla
• A database and user. With Orchard this can be a MySQL, MS SQL or file database. We recommend running this with MS-SQL.
• The control panel
• The Orchard CMS installation file.
• Write permissions on the wwwroot and underlying directories

You can already prepare the above in the control panel, you can get the Orchard CMS installation file from github with the following link:

https://github.com/OrchardCMS/Orchard/releases

Download the file that is suitable for web deploy: Orchard.Web.x.xx.x.zip



Unzip the file locally on your PC and upload the contents of the Orchard folder directly to the wwwroot.

Finally check the ASP.NET version under websites in the control panel and set it to 4.0 intergrated.



After this you can use the browser to go to your domain name to enter the installation process. You will then see the following fields that you can fill in:






Fill in your database and use the literal data from the control panel. So also use capital letters. For MySQL we have done it in this example, you adapt it to your configuration.








Then it's just a matter of choosing the suggested themes and pressing Finish Setup.
