Your WordPress installation asks for FTP credentials to perform updates

Within WordPress, the following message can occur when you have not assigned write permissions within WordPress. This can occur while updating or installing themes, plugins and WordPress itself. And also in some cases when trying to upload media.

Your WordPress installation asks for FTP credentials to perform updates

It will not matter whether you enter your FTP data here yes or no, a connection will not be established. This is because this has to do with passing write permissions, rather than FTP.

To solve or circumvent this, apply the permissions via the client panel or control panel, both are possible.

Through the customer panel go to:

My Products -> Product -> Websites -> Write permissions.

You can then apply the write permissions like this:

See also the option with: Install or update file permissions, Automatically reset after 7 days

This option is for when you want to perform a major update, and give the necessary permissions to do so. The full write permissions are removed after 7 days, to maintain a higher level of security.

Through the control panel you can do this in a similar way, however, these rights are not removed after 7 days. So you need to turn them off afterwards.

For the control panel way you can navigate to Control Panel -> Websites -> Enable Write permissions.

After this save again.

After you applied the write permissions you can refresh the page of your WordPress site, after this you should be able to continue the action.
