Email setup Thunderbird

Mozilla no longer supports Thunderbird, this is now community maintained. With the settings below you can connect to an email account of MijnHostingPartner.nl. If you have problems with this we recommend you to report it to the community forums.



To set up email in Thunderbird by Mozilla, the following steps are required.

Step 1, check your Thunderbird version.
This can be checked under
->Alt key press keyboard when in Thunderbird->
Help->
about Thunderbird.

Depending on the version, this guide may therefore differ, at the date of writing this is the latest version. (April 2016)

Step 2, create the email account.

Select add new account, then you can follow the steps below:



Enter your information, name for your account + email address and password.
Then click on Next.




Let the program search for the settings.




At the next screen select Manual Config.




Copy the data below, with the exception of Username. This should be your own email address.




When you click on Done the email address is set and you can fully use it.

troubleshooting:

When you get an error message about the outgoing connection you can change the port to port 26 or 587. Some Internet Service Providers block port 25.
