DNS redirecting to Google Workspace

This article explains how to transfer the DNS to Google, which you do as soon as you want to use Google's mail functionality, and if you have purchased a separate subscription for it.

With this change you no longer use the mail facilities of MijnHostingPartner.nland we can not directly check this for you anymore. You will have to go to Google for this.

Open your Google Workspace and navigate to the DNS settings. In addition, open a notepad to copy and paste some things when necessary, so you can see any hidden characters or spaces right away.

In another tab open our client panel and log in, then navigate to My domains -> select domain -> edit. Then select the tab DNS records. It depends on your situation which records you need to change or complete.

DNS redirecting to Google Workspace

Here we replace the default MX records from MIjnHostingPartner.nl with the necessary records from Google. Take some downtime of your email into account. Do this for example during the night to avoid any problems as far as possible.

Replace the 5 MX records with the following MX records from Google:

MX recordPriority
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
1
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
5
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
5
ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
10
ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
10

After this, you can add or change the SPF record to the following:

"v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all"

"v=spf1 a include:spf.myhostingpartner.com include:_spf.google.com ~all"

Any existing DKIM and DMARC certificates should also be checked after this, replace them with the records you can see within your Google Workspace. Or delete them.

After changing these records, it may take 24 hours for this to be fully processed globally. Check this at intervals of a few hours with an external tool such as MXtoolbox.com if something still goes wrong with this. Then you can take a closer look at whether something went wrong.

Since Google is also the external party in this, we cannot help you directly with this, with problems you can contact Google Workspace for this. And take a closer look at the following article from Google:
