At MijnHostingPartner.nl we always try to stay up to date with the latest tech news and trends.
One of our employees recently discovered something called Ecosia.
We thought this was an interesting subject and decided to have a look at what it exactly is.

What is Ecosia?

Ecosia is an environmentally friendly search engine that was launched on 14 December 2009 by Christian Kroll.
What makes Ecosia so unique is that the company uses 80% of its revenues to plant new trees.
The search engine uses search results from other search engines, the results come mainly from Microsoft's search engine Bing.
The company has already had enormous success in September 2009 when they received 21,500 dollars to plant new trees!
Ecosia has only had more success since then, on 30 June 2017 they had already planted 10 million trees and in January 2018 this number had already doubled, they had planted 21 million trees!
The company does not intend to stop there, however, as they have a goal of planting more than a billion trees by 2020.
The Brave web browser also uses Ecosia as its default search engine.
If you want to protect your privacy and do your part for the environment, Brave is the way to go!
